Abstract

This study examines the role of the Bunpanrengnge Farmers Group in improving rice productivity in Atakkae Subdistrict, Tempe District, Wajo Regency, during the period of January to June 2025. Using purposive sampling, 24 respondents were selected from a total of 379 farmers. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires, and analyzed using a Likert scale. The results show that activity planning was at a moderate level (62.5%), capital accumulation and contract compliance were low (70.83%), institutional relations were strong (79.17%), and technology utilization was low (83.33%). Identified obstacles included limited capital, low technology adoption, member passivity, and delays in assistance. The role of the farmers group was associated with productivity, though its effectiveness was limited. Recommendations include managerial training, savings and loan initiatives, transparency improvements, network optimization, and the adoption of modern agricultural technology.
