Abstract

This research was conducted in Lempong Village, Bola District, Wajo Regency. The implementation of this research was carried out for four months, namely January 2025 to April 2025. The purpose of this study was to determine the mechanism of the mappamula tradition in the production process of paddy rice planting in Lempong Village, Bola District, Wajo Regency. And to determine the increase in paddy rice production with the mappamula tradition in Lempong Village, Bola District, Wajo Regency. This research method is a quantitative method with the use of two data analyzes, namely the Likert scale and chi-squad. The method of determining respondents was carried out using saturated samples with a total of 20 respondents. The data used were secondary data and primary data. Data collection techniques were carried out by means of interviews, observations, questionnaires, and documentation. The results of the study show that the motivation of farmers towards the implementation of the mappamula tradition in Lempong Village, Bola District, Wajo Regency is in the category of quite motivated and the response of farmers towards increasing rice paddy production in Lempong Village, Bola District, Wajo Regency is at a value of 104 if seen in the chi square table Vl table of = 31.140 If the error rate used is 5% and the calculated Chi square is 31.140 squared then the calculated chi square is greater than the chi square table. So Ho is rejected, so (Ha) With the mappamula tradition, it provides an increase in rice paddy production in Lempong Village, Bola District, Wajo Regency.
