Abstract

This study assesses the effect of animated video learning media, specifically, the use of the Canva application for biotechnology materials, on the learning outcomes of Class X students at UPT SMA Negeri 1 Wajo in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. This study used a quantitative research approach, a quasi-experimental method and a one-group pretest-posttest design. Purposive sampling was employed. The sample was Class X.1, which had 22 students as the treatment group, and Class X.3, which had 23 students as the control group. Media expert validation instruments, material expert validation and learning outcome tests were used. The results of the hypothesis test show that the paired sample T test obtained a significance (two-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that using animated video learning media from the Canva application for biotechnology materials has an effect on learning outcomes.
